Hi, Parents and Children!
I am the Pre-K 4 teacher for Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at Saint Kateri School. I have a long history in Education. After graduating college in Pennsylvania, I received my teaching certification for grades K-6. I taught grades 3 and 4 in the Philadelphia School System. I married and my husband and I moved to New Jersey where he attended dental school. While we lived there, I obtained certification to teach grades K-8 and then taught in the Jersey City School District. When my husband finished his training, we moved to Rochester, NY. I applied for and received certification, in New York, to teach K-6 and 7-12 in Social Studies.
In the following years, I subbed for grades Pre-K to 12, in various school districts, taught in the Rochester School District, in Penfield, and at Sacred Heart Cathedral School ( before it closed). Last year, I taught two Pre-K groups of children at the YMCA.
During or in between teaching assignments, I raised three wonderful children, helped raise two nieces, and helped with my six grandchildren. I presently babysit, two times a week, for my 2 and four year old grandchildren.
My faith and the Church have always been foremost in my heart. Since moving here, at St. Joseph’s Church, under several pastors, I have served on Parish Council, many, many committees, started many programs for the Church to help others, and have worked on retreats for adults and teens. I have taught Confirmation and religious education.
Working at Saint Kateri School is a wonderful blessing for me. It could not be a nicer environment for the teachers and children! I am so pleased to share my time with your children! They are pure joy and a precious gift!
